The vessel sustained damage to the crankshaft of one of her auxiliary engines. After an initial attempt to repair in-situ was unsuccessful, a full crankshaft replacement was required. Acting on behalf of Hull & Machinery Underwriters, we undertook two site inspections in Piraeus to meticulously examine the incident, evaluate the nature and cause of the damage, and establish policy liability, followed up regularly until completion of the repairs and final reporting to our principals.
Throughout the year-long project, we provided diligent oversight, closely monitoring each phase of the repair process. Our ongoing communications included regular updates and detailed reports, ensuring all parties involved remained well-informed at every step.
Beyond the survey and investigation of the casualty, we conducted a thorough review and analysis of the Assured’s claim invoices and provided comments based on the technical and operational merits of the case. This methodical approach underscores the high standards and reliable support we bring to our clients in the marine insurance sector.
