The Vessel suffered a damage to the crankshaft of one of her auxiliary engines. Owners’ initial attempt to effect repairs by in situ machining were unsuccessful and the replacement of the crankshaft was deemed necessary. The job took over four months to complete and the Vessel’s commercial commitments and trading pattern
Appointed by Underwriters, we attended the Vessel in Italy, investigated the nature, cause and extent of the casualty and determined the Underwriters’ liability under the Vessel’s H&M policy.
Repairs were followed up and regular reports and updates were issued to the principals. The Assured’s claim invoices were submitted and were reviewed, analyzed and commented upon.
