The Vessel was scheduled to load a cargo of fertilizers at Antwerp. Her cargo holds were repeatedly inspected by shippers’ surveyor and were repeatedly rejected. The Vessel’s P&I Club was requested and appointed a surveyor who surveyed the situation but offered no solid assistance/opinion. At this point we were contacted urgently by owners and assigned to attend and resolve the matter.
Our partner in Rotterdam travelled to Antwerp and inspected the condition of the cargo holds, offered instructions and guidelines for their upgrading as necessary, monitored the works and liaised with shippers’ surveyor for a follow-up inspection. Upgrading works were specified and carried out non-stop. The cargo holds passed the shippers’ surveyor’s inspection and cargo loading commenced reducing the time lost to a minimum.
